Chip Farming - Best Fragment Routes
Every chip fragment farm in Kernel Hearts ranked by fragments per hour: angel patrol routes, boss fragment drops, quest rewards and endgame shard runs, with exact costs and timings.
Quick Answer: What Is the Fastest Way to Get Chips?
Angel patrol fragments, from hour one until you stop needing upgrades: roughly 320 fragments per hour on the main-path circuit with an Ice chip equipped. The one-time quest rewards (~450 fragments) beat every farm but only once — do them immediately. Angel Shard runs pay ~500 per hour at endgame but assume gear that already costs more than you would spend.
The Main Path Circuit (Early Fragments)
Start at the Floor 1 gate, clear every angel patrol along the main path, loop back through the side corridors for the angel swarm, sell everything at the gate vendor. Six minutes per lap, 250-350 fragments depending on rare drop luck. The circuit doubles as rare chip component farming for your first MAHOU.OS upgrade — your first ten laps fund the whole early game.
What Not to Spend On
- Courtyard chip upgrades before Floor 1 chips — the shard routes assume Floor 1 upgrades; you lose the difference in healing items.
- Weapon polishes before a boss attempt — polish damage is wasted on trash you already out-kill.
- Rare chips outside the Floor 2 Guardian fight — expensive chip loads do nothing for exploration.
Endgame: Shard Runs and the Barter Economy
Once you have Courtyard-ready chips, Angel Shard runs (rare drop, ~1 in 6) out-earn everything — but the smart play is not to sell the shards at all. Three shards barter into the Divine Crown at the laboratory hub, and the Crown summons the Floor 2 Guardian, whose Seal is the 100% completion trophy. In Kernel Hearts, the best "sale" is always a barter toward gear: see the economy guide for every conversion recipe.
