Quick Answer: The Control Scheme
Kernel Hearts uses a standard action layout: WASD to move, mouse to attack, Q to swap between chip loadouts. The two bindings worth learning early are Shift (dodge-roll) and Tab (character info for weakness lookup mid-fight). A gamepad is recommended even on PC — full DualSense and Xbox controller support is built in, and the console editions ship with these defaults.
| Action | Default Binding |
|---|---|
| Move | W A S D |
| Attack / Charged attack (hold) | Left Mouse |
| Swap chip loadout | Q |
| Interact / Loot / Place summon item | E |
| Dodge-roll | Shift |
| Character info | Tab |
| Map | M |
| Inventory | I |
| Quick slot (items) | 1-4 |
| Menu | Esc |
Bind dodge-roll to a side mouse button if you have one — the Guardian fights punish keyboard-Shift rolls during sweep combos.
