The laboratory hub accepts all drops at full value — Kernel Hearts has no haggling and no price variation. What varies is what the hub crafts: the laboratory is the only place that converts materials into chips, and it is the only place that forges boss summon items. Knowing what the hub converts is the whole economy game.

The Barter Rule
Materials that the laboratory wants (Courtyard Materials, Angel Shards) are always worth more as forge ingredients than as raw fragments. The moment a forge recipe exists for a drop, stop selling that drop — the shard-to-Crown conversion is the endgame example: three shards forge into a boss summon worth an entire fight worth of loot.
