Region 1: The Outer Gates

The Outer Gates is the tutorial floor of the Tower of Babel in Kernel Hearts. It teaches the full loop: fight biblical angels, exploit elemental weaknesses, collect chip fragments, upgrade your MAHOU.OS loadout at the laboratory hub, then summon the floor guardian with a quest-earned item. Everything here is deliberately readable: slow enemies, generous telegraphs, cheap mistakes.

The road upward to The Heavenly Courtyard stays sealed until you defeat the Floor 1 Guardian and use the Floor Access Key it drops. The Guardian only answers to the Guardian Sigil, a free quest reward from the introductory chain — the game checks you understood elemental weaknesses before it raises the stakes.

Equip your best attack chips within the 256KB budget and stock at least five healing items. Polish your weapon at the laboratory hub once — the +2 damage is cheap and every hit on a fire-attuned boss is doubled by the element anyway.

The main quest of Floor 1 runs: thin the angel patrols, clear the gate area, activate the three signal beacons, then carry the Sigil to the sealed gate. Completing it is the only path to the Guardian — and the game refuses to let you skip to Floor 2 under-leveled.
