Transformation Guide: Magical Girl Form

How the Kernel Hearts transformation works: filling the gauge with weakness hits, what the true magical girl form does, curse dispel timing and co-op transformation sync.

Quick Answer: How Does Transformation Work?

Transformation is the payoff of the climb-upgrade-transform loop. Every elemental weakness hit fills your transformation gauge; when it is full, transform to dispel the Heavenly Curse from yourself, unleash a devastating area attack on nearby foes, and fight in your true magical girl form for a short window. Treat the gauge as a resource: the burst both clears pressure and doubles as your curse answer.

Filling the Gauge Faster

Weakness hits are the engine — chip damage on a resisted element barely moves the needle, while a doubled weakness hit accelerates the gauge sharply. Check the characters hub for every unit weakness, coat your chips accordingly, and the gauge fills itself during normal clears. Transformation range matters too: the burst only strikes nearby foes, so bank the gauge until enemies commit to you.

Do not transform on cooldown. Save it for phantom-heavy phases and curse cycles — see the co-op sync section below.

What the True Form Does

Transformed state combines three effects: the dispel (removes the Heavenly Curse from you), the entry burst (devastating area damage on activation), and a short enhanced window where your true magical girl form fights with boosted output. The form is temporary — the moment it ends you are back to chip loadout play, so front-load your damage during the window.

Co-op Transformation Sync

In co-op the gauge fills slower with more players, but group aggression scales safely to compensate. The advanced play is syncing: stagger transformations so someone is always in true form during long fights, or stack them on the Floor 1 Guardian phantom phase for overlapping area bursts. Assign transformation order before the fight, not during it — the boss tactics page has the per-Guardian plans.
