Quick Answer: Which Spell Chips Do I Need?

The Single-target Spell Chip covers everything on Floor 1. Beyond that: the Area Spell Chip for the Floor 2 Guardian phantom phase, and a Defense Chip for Courtyard survivability when enemies close in.

Spell chips do not stack with each other โ€” equipping an Area Spell replaces the Single-target. Choose based on the fight.

Why Area Spell Matters for Floor 2

The Floor 2 Guardian spawns two phantoms at 60% health. The Single-target Spell takes too long to clear both; the Area Spell kills them in one hit. This phase is the game pop quiz on the weakness system, and the Area Spell is the answer.

Defense Chip: The Underrated Survival Tool

The Defense Chip reduces incoming damage for 30 seconds at a cost of 32KB. The Floor 2 Guardian fight runs five to eight minutes and is decided in the second phase, when curse floors and slam waves pile up. One well-timed Defense Chip activation covers the whole second phase.
