Laika Character Guide

Laika is one of the four magical girls of the M.A.H.O.U Unit and the second-half melee specialist: she unlocks alongside Floor 2 — The Heavenly Courtyard — where she and Dolce form the Floor 2 squad. Where Fernet anchors Floor 1, Laika carries the deeper climb with the same Iron Sword discipline adapted to angelic enemies and the Heavenly Curse cycle.

Laika is the Fire-attuned frontline of Floor 2. Her Fire coating melts the Ice-attuned angelic patrols, while Dolce’s Ice coverage answers the Fire-attuned guardians — that split is the intended pairing: one girl on curse duty, one on guardian pressure. Transformation timing matters more here than on Floor 1: dispel the curse floor before you commit to a guardian phase.

The Floor 2 kit: an upgraded Attack Chip for the melee loop, one crowd-control Spell Chip for patrol packs, and the Blink Chip to escape curse floors. The 256KB budget is tight at this tier — Laika benefits more from three well-chosen chips than a full loadout of situational ones.

Laika arrives when the game stops handing you wins: the Heavenly Courtyard hits harder, curses more and bosses punish sloppy coating. Discovering her (and the rest of the roster) is required for the roster-complete achievement, and she is the natural co-op tank for four-player Floor 2 climbs — hold the angels’ attention while Dolce and ranged visitors melt the guardian.
